For those wishing to explore Abu Dhabi and make the most of the outdoors, visiting during the cooler months of November to February is recommended. March, April and October are the best months to visit if you are looking to make the most of the beautiful beaches. Temperatures are often more than 30°C, perfect for sunbathing yet still comfortable.
The hottest months in Abu Dhabi are May through to August, with temperatures in this period often reaching 50°C. Combined with fairly humid conditions, while sunbathing is still popular, these months are ideal for taking advantage of Abu Dhabi's fantastic air conditioned shopping malls.
Ramadan 2014 is expected to begin in June and will finish in July.
Ramadan is an Islamic month of abstinence, and therefore it is illegal throughout the UAE for adults to eat, drink or smoke in public during daylight hours. Many hotels, however, have areas where non-fasters can eat so food services will remain available in these places. Adults are also expected to dress more modestly during this time, and tight or revealing clothing should be avoided in public.
